Question Freezing Your Jeans ?

Someone recently told me that freezing your raw or selvedge jeans, by putting them in a plastic bag inside your freezer, is a good way to keep them clean, without washing them. Saying that it kills the bacteria that would be accumulated whilst wearing them for long periods of time.

Can anyone validate this for me ? I've never even heard of this theory before.

Sounds ridiculous.

Some people say to apply baking soda to the parts that smell the worst and just stick them inside the freezer, folded up overnight.

The way I've heard it, it's just to eliminate smell.
No magic freezer cleaning theory at work as far as I know.

the freezer method was recomended a bit when i first joined this site, but not to clean, but, as was mentioned, to kill the bacteria/smells. if you pull them out of teh freezer and they are still filthy dont be surprised.

The germs don't die... they just stay dorment. You need to ultra-freeze it to kill them...

Yeah, it was something just to kill the smell. This kinda reminds me of that story I heard when I was a kid that if you broke your plastic bmx bike rim and tossed it in the freezer, it would fix it. That was ridiculous.
