hilariously, not only its name but also the store’s interior is inspired by a woman’s multiple daily mood swings and resulted in a playful collab interior by swedish design bureau boys don’t cry and new york-based media artist cyril duval. they created four distinct areas that overtly reflect the store’s female-inspired concept. location: nikitskiy bulvar 17 [presnenskiy].

moscow: kuznetskiy most 20 store opening

monday, october 12th, 2009

an exciting new concept store recently opened in moscow. dubbed kuznetskiy most 20 after its downtown address, the store and its interior are a far cry from the majority of the bland luxury boutiques in the area. apart from a new and immaculate black linoleum floor, the shop interior has been stripped bare. architect aleksandr brodskiy gave the brick walls an artsy chalk-white make-over, reminiscent of martin margiela stores, and sand-papered the ceiling, revealing the woodwork.

shop furniture, light fittings and displays are either hi-tech and contemporary or funky d.i.y., enhancing the meticulously balanced artistic vibe. inevitably, as to counter balance the cool interior, kuznetskiy most 20 carries a wide range of edgy brands, ranging from acne womenswear, bless bags and husam el odeh jewellery to rick owenslilies line and comme des garçons‘ purse collection. location: ulitsa kuznetskiy most 20 [tverskaya].
