paris’ mischievous le baron crew lands at the florida room on dec 1-6[11pm-late] for some serious late night fun! location: delano hotel, 1685 collins avenue, entrance 17th street [south beach].

opening at o.h.w.o.w. on halloween night, sat - oct 31 [8pm-midnight] is the first solo show of elusive graffiti artist neck face. the appropriately called show devil’s disciple showcases the artist’s new paintings and metal mask sculptures in a complete make-over of the art space. the entire 10,000 sq.ft. venue will be turned into a large-scale haunted house installation.

miami’s o.h.w.o.w. has a nice deal up its sleeve: the new york minute poster pack. it’s a limited-edition pack of 100 only, and consists of 10 individual posters [12 x 18 inches] by some of today’s leading urban artists, including aurel schmidt, barry mcgee and dash snow [†]. a related exhibition opens at the museo d’arte contemporanea in rome on sat - sep 19.

it’s miami’s hottest haute fashion haunt of late. we’re talking the webster on south beach. run by a french trio of well-connected fashion veterans, this store features a collection of luxury brands with a high oh la la factor that’ll excite even the most jaded. housed in a former 1930s art déco-style hotel by architect henry hohauser, it has been fully restored and now features 20,000 sq.ft. of high fashion and accessories for a savvy male and female clientele. the webster’s lobby section also features the miami outpost of parisian restaurant kaviar caspia. location: 1220 collins avenue [miami beach].]

finnish design brand marimekko relocates to bigger premises in miami’s flourishing design district. in this neighbourhood of design brands and creative businesses, the new 3,157 sq.ft. concept store features a much wider selection of items, including women’s, men’s and children’s fashions, home accessories, towels, linens, cotton and upholstery fabrics, furniture and books. location: 3940 north miami avenue [design district].

…and while you cavorted around art basel miami beach, the mondrian south beach conceived by designer marcel wanders and the city’s hottest hotel of late, officially opened its doors. the property looks edgy-chic and features original designs from his studio. next to 335 rooms, suites and studios, the new complex features an exclusive agua spa, an asia de cuba restaurant plus a nightclub featuring live latin beats, dubbed sunset lounge. location: 1100 west avenue [miami beach].

hey people, check out the artist opening reception of the death by basel group show at frederic snitzer gallery on fri – dec 5 [7pm-9pm]. on display are a series of works by a kooky string of artists from tokyo, oslo, paris and miami, including ok fred, ida ekblad, item idem, chim↑pom and jim drain. location: 2258 nw 1st place [wynwood].

italian luxury sports brand moncler makes its mark at art basel miami beach. l’uomo vogue editor-in-chief franca sozzani presents the moncler toy, a life-size [160 x 100 cm] duck sculpture, customized entirely by british urban artist stuart semple on fri - dec 5. the fibreglass artwork features snapshots of mountain landscapes in black and white pixels and hand drawn, plus splashes of colour. afterwards it will tour the brand’s flagship stores in aspen, st. moritz and milan where it will be auctioned in february 2009.
