superfuture’s fav glassware brand iittala has just released an eye-catching product range that isn’t made of glass…but is desirable all the same. the piilo is a striking organic-shaped miniature box made from polished aluminium. created by milan-based designer giorgio vigna, the box comes in different sizes [there's even an amulet version in sterling silver] and in two shades. the piilo is available at iittala stores across the planet.

glass manufacturer iittala launches its create campaign early mar 09. the brand has invited a series of designers and paired them with its flagship stores in amsterdam, antwerp, berlin, helsinki, london and stockholm to select items from the vast iittala collection and create individual combinations [the brand's golden formula] and a window installation. participating artists are alfredo häberli, minna parikka, sofia ronthén, klaus haapaniemi + mia wallenius, ilkka suppanen and fredrikson stallard. check local flagship stores for launch date.

it’s been only a few months since iittala, the finnish brand of superior glass and homewares, opened up shop here in berlin. now it launches a second outlet in the happening münzstrasse with a store to match. surrounded by edgy fashion stores like acne, andreas murkudis and lil shop, it blends in effortlessly with a new shop concept influenced by the brand’s throwawayism philosophy. the result is an edgy utilitarian-chic retail environment. location: münzstrasse 7 [mitte].
