vilnius: cold war modern
after being initially staged at london’s v & a, the cold war modern - design 1945-1970 exhibition opens at the national art gallery in vilnius on sat - oct 3. the exhibition contains a wide range of art, architecture, design, and fashion objects, and films, that represent the material apotheosis of the cold war era. this period also includes the peak of the u.s.-soviet space race. it’s the spirit of competition between geo-political blocks – of political/territorial influence, in space, in war memorial architecture, in lifestyle, in consumer goods design, at world fairs – that embodies this show. location: konstitucijos prospekte 22 [downtown].
